Common questions

How accurate is the feedback?

The model is trained on Quran recitation and compares your audio with the exact phonetic form of the ayah, word by word. It catches wrong words, swapped letters, vowel length, shadda and madd. On Lenient and Normal strictness it gives you the benefit of the doubt on borderline sounds, and you can report any result you believe is wrong with “Not right? Report it”.

What's the difference between Practice and Memorize?

In Practice the Arabic stays visible while you recite. Memorize (part of Pro) takes each ayah through four steps: Read with the text, Hints (first letters), Hidden (words appear as you recite) and Recall (from memory). It stops at the first wrong word so you can fix it, and memorized ayahs come back for revision on a schedule (“Revise today” on Home).

What is word drill?

Word drill takes one word at a time: listen to the qari, say the word, and see your score. It's the quickest way to fix a letter like ض or ظ.

Arabic isn't my first language. Will it mark my accent?

Turn on Non-native mode (in Settings or the practice settings). Letters your accent says alike, like ص as س or ذ as ز, then count as correct and show as tips after each ayah; pick which letters to go easy on. Mixing up letters can change the meaning, so work on the tips over time. Strict always checks every letter exactly.

How many free checks do I get?

10 recitation checks and 30 word-drill checks a day, reset at midnight UTC (5 am in Pakistan). A recitation only uses a check once words are actually checked: if nothing was heard, or our servers couldn't check it, you get the check back. Pro removes the daily limit.

Is my recording stored?

No. Your audio is checked and then discarded. It is only kept if you choose to attach it to a report, so we can review the result.

How do I change text size, translations or the reciter?

On any surah page use the toolbar (Translations, text size, reciter); your choices are remembered. Text size, word gap and the default reciter are also in Settings.

What happens when I cancel Pro?

You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, then return to the free plan. Your progress and bookmarks stay.
